Scripture comparison tool

Put a passage beside another translation and examine its wording in context. Choose the New World Translation (NWT) or another English Bible, then add a second translation to compare.

Readings appear here where permitted, with direct links to the NWT and other publishers’ reading pages. When an exact passage is covered in the public book sample and you select the NWT with the ESV, KJV or NIV, its original comparison appears inside the tool.

Free Scripture comparison tool

One passage. A closer look.

Enter a verse, choose a translation, and add a second to compare. Free to use—no account needed.

Select NWT + ESV, KJV, or NIV and an exact passage compared in the public sample: “COMPARE!” shows its original book comparison right here. No page redirect. A range must be fully covered by the same sample entry.

Outside the existing book comparisons, NWT, ESV, and NIV use optional reading-source links. Other listed editions display below. Single verses or ranges within one chapter are supported. Small windows open only after you press “COMPARE!”; your browser may use tabs or block pop-ups. If a window does not appear, use the clearly labeled reading links below; those always remain ordinary new-tab links.

About the readings & sources

Inline readings are fetched on request from the Free Use Bible API. Wording and verse numbers are kept as supplied. Edition links identify each text and its permissions; KJV has a separate UK rights notice. External links open new tabs and are governed by their own sites. The Scripture comparison tool is independent of those providers.

The NWT source is the current Study Bible. The book sample may compare an earlier NWT edition as labeled on its pages. Passage requests are sent to the reading provider; this tool does not require a login or save your searches.
